Team Run Flagstaff offers a beginner runner program, Step Into Running,
for eight weeks each spring and fall.

Step Into Running is a run/walk program designed for anyone with an interest in running, regardless of experience. The program meets twice a week and is staffed by Team Run Flagstaff coaches and volunteers. If you are a beginner runner, or know someone who wants to start running, this eight-week program is a great place to begin. We stress the basics of starting a running program safely and effectively in a supportive environment.

Step Into Running Events


“It’s not about speed, or racing, or expensive running shoes. It doesn’t matter how far you go. Nobody has to run a 5K or a marathon in order to make walking and running part of an exercise routine. It’s about getting out the door, moving, having fun, and gradually building fitness without getting hurt, under the guidance of volunteers and expert coaches who were once new to running, too. Twice a week, for eight weeks, it’s a chance to test the waters and learn how to ease into a running program at your own pace.
